The Lawless season in Fortnite has brought a flurry of new challenges and exciting quests, and one of the most vibrant additions is the "Somebody’s Planning a Party in Crime City" quest. This quest is a unique and fun way to explore the bustling streets of Crime City, where you’ll meet a rapping pickle named Big Dill. Your goal is to help Big Dill prepare for his party by collecting four essential items. Not only will you earn some gold and XP, but you’ll also experience a unique and entertaining mini-adventure within the game.
Finding Big Dill in Crime City
To start the "Somebody’s Planning a Party in Crime City" quest, you need to locate Big Dill, the rapping pickle NPC, in Crime City. Big Dill always spawns on a terrace with a dance floor, which is easy to recognize thanks to the shining lights pointing toward the sky. You can land directly on this location from the battle bus to interact with Big Dill. However, it’s important to note that you are not guaranteed to get the quest from Big Dill on your first try. In fact, you might need to restart your matches and revisit him several times to start the quest. In my experience, it took five attempts before Big Dill finally gave me the quest, so be prepared for a bit of trial and error.
Starting the Quest with Big Dill
Once you land near Big Dill, you’ll see an exclamation point above his head, indicating that you can interact with him. When you interact with Big Dill, he will inform you that he’s planning a party and needs your help to prepare for it. The quest involves finding and collecting four important party items and then reporting back to Big Dill. These items are all located within the same building where Big Dill spawns, making it a straightforward and relatively quick quest to complete.
Collecting the Party Items
The first item you need to find is a green-colored Kappa brine drink, which can be located on the terrace itself. Look to your right, and you should see it on a table or shelf. Next, take the stairs down to the first floor and look behind the counter to find another pack of Kappa brine drinks. The third item is a record, and you can find it on the first-floor balcony. If you can’t locate the balcony, it’s right next to the counter where you found the second brine drink. The final item, another record, can be found in the washroom. Simply go down the stairs, open the washroom door, and pick up the record lying on the floor.
Completing the Quest and Earning Rewards
After collecting all four items, head back to Big Dill to complete the quest. He will tell you that his guests are arriving soon and reward you with an instant level-up. Additionally, you’ll receive around 600 gold, which is a generous amount of gold for such a short and fun quest. This gold can be used to hire Big Dill’s services or to purchase powerful weaponry from the Black Market, making this quest a valuable addition to your Fortnite gameplay.
