Navigating the Vague Clue: What is a Bright Yellow Fruit?

Star Path tasks in Disney Dreamlight Valley often leave players scratching their heads with their vague hints. One such task, "harvest a bright yellow fruit," can be particularly perplexing due to the numerous yellow fruits scattered throughout the village. The dilemma arises because the game tends to be somewhat ambiguous about which fruit it’s referring to. At first glance, you might think of Lemons or even Pineapples, but the correct answer is less obvious and more nuanced.

The Right Fruit for the Task: Bananas

For the Oasis Retreat Star Path event, the bright yellow fruit you’re tasked with harvesting is, surprisingly, Bananas. In the world of Disney Dreamlight Valley, Bananas are not the most vividly yellow fruit; they are more of a slightly yellow and mostly green color. This makes them easy to overlook, especially when other fruits like Lemons, Golden Apples, and Honeydew Melons seem to fit the description better. Despite this, Bananas are the only fruit that counts for this specific task.

Locating and Harvesting Bananas

To complete the "harvest a bright yellow fruit" duty, you need to gather a total of 40 Bananas. The game provides you with five Banana Trees, two of which are initially found in the Peaceful Meadow biome. The other three trees first appear in the Dazzle Beach area. You have the freedom to move these trees anywhere in the valley, which can sometimes make finding them a bit of a challenge. If you’re unsure of their current locations, check your map for the fruit icon to guide you.

Each Banana Tree allows you to pick three Bananas at a time, and the fruit takes approximately 23 minutes to regrow once picked. This means you will need to make three trips to the Banana Trees to gather the necessary 40 Bananas, which will take you around an hour and a half. You can ask a friend to help you forage, and while they may find extra Bananas, only the ones you pick yourself will count towards completing the task.

A Common Mistake: DLC Fruits Don’t Count

It’s worth noting that for some Star Path tasks, items from downloadable content (DLC) can be used to progress. However, this is not the case for the "harvest a bright yellow fruit" duty. Fruits from DLCs such as The Storybook Vale or Eternity Isle, which include Pineapples, Golden Apples, and Honeydew Melons, won’t count towards this task. Stick to the vanilla game’s Banana Trees to ensure you’re on the right track.

The Reward: 10 Tokens

After all the effort you put into harvesting 40 Bananas, the reward might seem a bit modest. You receive 10 Tokens, which is the lowest amount you can earn for completing any Star Path task. While this may not seem like a significant prize, it’s still part of the game’s overall progress system. If you’re looking to earn more Tokens, consider tackling other event tasks, such as spending time with the residents of Duckburg, engaging in conversations with Toontown’s inhabitants, or cooking a fancy dinner. These tasks often offer more substantial rewards and can help you make the most of your time in the game.

A Community Effort

While the game’s mechanics ensure that only the Bananas you personally pick will count towards the task, the community aspect of Disney Dreamlight Valley can still enhance your experience. Collaborating with friends or community members can make the task more enjoyable and less tedious. By working together, you can share tips, locations, and even some of the extra Bananas you find along the way. Remember, the journey in Disney Dreamlight Valley is just as important as the destination, and the social interactions and camaraderie you build can add a lot of value to your gameplay.
