The Vision of Confluence: A Renewed Glory in Destiny 2

The Vision of Confluence, a Solar scout rifle from the Vault of Glass raid in Destiny 2, has undergone a significant transformation with the latest update. This update not only introduced new perks and Origin Traits but also granted players the ability to craft and enhance the weapon, making it a more appealing choice for both PvE and PvP scenarios. The Vision of Confluence is a Precision Frame 180 RPM Solar scout rifle, and prior to the update, it was already a decent weapon with combinations like Rewind Rounds and Firefly. However, with the introduction of Incandescent and Heal Clip, the rifle has become a formidable choice for a variety of playstyles.

Optimal Vision of Confluence Builds for PvE

In PvE, the Vision of Confluence shines with the availability of Incandescent in the third column. This perk allows you to double up on damage perks in the fourth column, such as Explosive Payload, Firefly, or Frenzy. While Firefly might be overkill for area-of-effect (AoE) damage, especially when combined with Incandescent, general damage perks like Explosive Payload are highly effective. Another sleeper perk for PvE is Paracausal Affinity, which grants a 20 percent damage increase for six seconds when scoring a kill with an element of the matching alignment. Essentially, one kill with the Vision of Confluence is enough to activate this buff, offering a higher total damage increase compared to Explosive Payload (15 percent). For endgame content, the Heal Clip perk in the third column is an excellent choice. Heal Clip grants Cure when reloading shortly after a kill, making it a valuable addition when paired with Firefly or Explosive Payload.

Recommended Vision of Confluence PvE Build:

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
  • Magazine: Tactical Mag
  • Perk One: Incandescent or Heal Clip
  • Perk Two: Explosive Payload or Firefly
  • Masterwork: Reload Speed
  • Weapon Mod: Synergy

Vision of Confluence in PvP

The Vision of Confluence also performs well in PvP, though it is not at the top of the meta due to its lower optimal time-to-kill (TTK) compared to 140 RPM hand cannons. To secure a kill, you need to land three critical hits and one body shot, which can be challenging. However, the rifle is comfortable to use and can be an enjoyable choice for games like Control. The Zen Moment perk in the third column reduces flinch and recoil, making the weapon more manageable. Pairing Zen Moment with Explosive Payload can provide some extra damage. If you want to make the gun more competitive and reduce overall TTK time, you can also opt for the Kill Clip perk.

Recommended Vision of Confluence PvP Build:

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
  • Magazine: Accurized Rounds
  • Perk One: Zen Moment
  • Perk Two: Kill Clip or Explosive Payload
  • Masterwork: Range
  • Weapon Mod: Ballistics

Acquiring the Vision of Confluence

To obtain the Vision of Confluence, you must complete the Vault of Glass raid. The weapon drops from the first (Confluxes) and third (Templar) encounters. If you aim to acquire an Adept/Timelost version of the weapon, you must complete the Confluxes encounter challenge on Master difficulty when the raid is featured in the weekly rotation. The challenge, titled "Wait for It…," requires you to kill the Sacrificial Wyverns only when they begin sacrificing at the conflux. When you see a Wyvern on your side, get it low (about half a bar) and let it reach the conflux. Once the conflux turns red, use your Super or a Heavy weapon to finish it. During the encounter, avoid using turrets, souls, or any other passive damage sources that could accidentally finish off a Wyvern. If the conflux despawns before the Wyvern reaches it, do not kill the Wyvern, as it will despawn when the next stage starts or if you complete the encounter.

The Impact of the Vision of Confluence Update

The recent update to the Vision of Confluence has breathed new life into this Solar scout rifle, making it a versatile and powerful choice for both PvE and PvP. The introduction of new perks and the ability to craft and enhance the weapon have significantly improved its performance and reliability. Whether you are tackling challenging endgame content or dominating in PvP, the Vision of Confluence offers a range of build options to suit various playstyles. Its high damage output, paired with the ability to heal or deal even more damage, makes it a valuable addition to any Guardian’s arsenal.

Conclusion: A Stellar Addition to the Arsenal

The Vision of Confluence has emerged as a standout weapon in Destiny 2, thanks to the recent update. With its enhanced damage capabilities, new Origin Traits, and the ability to craft and enhance, it has become a must-have for Guardians seeking to optimize their loadouts. Whether you are delving into the depths of the Vault of Glass or competing in intense PvP matches, the Vision of Confluence provides a balanced and powerful experience. Its diverse build options ensure that it can adapt to a wide range of scenarios, making it a versatile and reliable choice for any Guardian.
