Finding His Feet at Huracán

Marco Pellegrino has candidly discussed his current loan spell at Huracán, revealing that it has provided him with the playing time and opportunities he needed to develop. After a challenging period at Milan, where he struggled to secure regular minutes, and a brief, tumultuous stint at Independiente, Pellegrino found a new lease on life in Buenos Aires. "It’s going well," he shares with MilanNews. "I’m happy that I’m playing all the games as a starter, and my family is happy too. I’m finally getting the satisfaction I crave, and even scored a goal against Boca Juniors. It’s been a positive experience, and I couldn’t be more grateful."

Overcoming Adversity

The journey to Huracán was not without its hurdles. Pellegrino’s time at Independiente was marked by internal suspensions and a lack of playing opportunities, making it a difficult chapter in his young career. However, he remained resilient and focused on his training and performance. "It was a tough time at Independiente," he admits. "But now I’m in a better place. The atmosphere at Huracán is calmer, and the fans are supportive. I’m mentally focused, and the results are starting to show. We have a big derby against San Lorenzo coming up, and I’m ready to give my all."

The Path to Growth

Pellegrino’s primary goal at Huracán is to improve his standing in the league and secure more victories for his team. "Our target is to climb the standings and try to win the league. We’re determined to fight for the top positions," he states. On a personal level, he aims to play consistently, gain valuable experience, and return to Milan stronger. "To play all the games, improve, and come back to Milan as a more experienced player is my aspiration. I want to be in a position to compete when I return."

Learning from Challenges

The young centre-back reflects on his initial challenges at Milan, where he only managed to play one game before suffering an injury. "I played only one game, against Napoli, and I got hurt. That night was tough, and I’m sorry that the fans’ last memory of me is from that match," he laments. Despite the setbacks, Pellegrino cherishes the time he spent training alongside top players like Theo Hernandez, Olivier Giroud, and Mike Maignan. "Training with such greats was a dream come true. It’s an experience that has shaped me, and I’m eager to return with a more mature and resilient mindset."

Following Milan from Afar

Even while away from Milan, Pellegrino remains a devoted follower of the club. "I always keep an eye on Milan. They’ve had some tough moments, but the recent additions of players like Joao Felix and Juanman Gimenez have brought a lot of quality to the team," he notes. He looks forward to the possibility of interacting with Gimenez, who shares a language with him, and is impressed by the talents of current Serie A stars. "De Ketelaere has fantastic technique, and Mateo Retegui is also incredibly skilled. They are both players I admire and hope to learn from."

Preparing for a Return

Pellegrino is keenly aware of the differences between Argentine and Italian football, particularly in terms of tactics. "The physicality and strength in Serie A are clear, but the tactical aspects are where the real difference lies," he explains. "Argentine football has no shortage of quality and technique, but the tactical depth and discipline in Italy are remarkable." After a year back in his home country, Pellegrino feels more prepared for the challenges of Serie A. "I’m gaining experience and feel much more ready now. The first time in Italy was tough, and I was quite immature. I’m still young, but I’ve grown a lot, and I’m excited to prove myself again in Serie A." To the Milan fans, he offers a heartfelt message: "For me, it’s a dream to play for Milan. Coming back would be something beautiful, and I’m working hard to make that a reality."

A Dream in the Making

Marco Pellegrino’s journey is a testament to the ups and downs of a young player’s career. From the pinnacles of training with some of the best in Serie A to the hardships of internal suspensions and limited playing time, he has shown remarkable resilience and determination. His current success at Huracán is a step forward in his development, and while he is grateful for the opportunity, his ultimate goal remains clear: to return to AC Milan as a stronger, more experienced player. "Playing for Milan is my dream, and I will do everything in my power to make it happen," he concludes.
