No doubt this Gamecock football team is in a better spot now then where it was when Spurrier left the program but there is still a ways to go. There is some substantial talent on this team heading into the 2018 season but if the Garnet and Black hope to improve off of a 9-4 year and Outback Bowl victory, junior quarterback, Jake Bentley, will have to be the one to lead the charge.
New offensive coordinator, Bryan McClendon, and new quarterbacks coach, Dan Werner, will look to assist Bentley in his maturation and development in Will Muschamp's third year in Columbia.
I discussed how I think Bentley needs to and should improve with these new position coaches and with all the talent surrounding him this season. I also gave a short summary about the potential for the Gamecocks in the 2018 season and laid out the map to a potential SEC Championship appearance.
