From Super Bowl Dream to Reality

Caroline Fenton from Yahoo Sports sat down with Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert, whose journey from a childhood dream to a Super Bowl champion is nothing short of inspiring. "It’s incredible," Goedert said, reflecting on his Super Bowl victory. "It’s been a dream of mine since I was a little kid, and finally seeing it come to fruition is truly special." The celebration, of course, was a memorable one. "We had a lot of fun at the postgame party, celebrating with my teammates, family, and friends," he shared. "It doesn’t seem like the excitement is going to slow down anytime soon."

Overcoming Adversity and Learning from Losses

The path to the Super Bowl was not without its challenges. In the past two years, the Eagles faced significant setbacks, including a Super Bowl loss to the same team they beat this year and a Wild Card round defeat. "Those losses were devastating," Goedert admitted. "But they taught us a lot. After the 2022 season, when we couldn’t handle the adversity thrown at us, we had the offseason to reflect and build on those experiences. That’s what made this team so special. We handled every challenge with a ‘next man up’ mentality and were fully connected as a team."

The Leadership of Jalen Hurts

A key factor in the team’s success was the leadership of quarterback Jalen Hurts. "From the outside, Jalen’s mentality is different," Goedert noted. "He’s a true winner. He doesn’t care about his passing yards or touchdowns; he cares about winning. He consistently puts us in great positions to win and finds a way to make plays when we need them most. When we don’t win, his focus is on what he can do better next time. His attitude is contagious and has really set the tone for the entire team."

Building a Dynasty

The goal now is clear: to become a dynasty and replicate the magic of this past season. "We have a lot of confidence in this team," Goedert said. "It starts with our quarterback, Jalen Hurts, and the strong core of our offensive and defensive lines. Most of those players are coming back, and they were instrumental to our success this year. If we can stay connected and bring in the right pieces, I have no doubt we can achieve great things again next season."

A Personal Battle with Plaque Psoriasis

Beyond the gridiron, Goedert has been open about his personal struggle with plaque psoriasis, a condition he has lived with for over two decades. "I was diagnosed when I was about 10 years old, and it has been a constant challenge," he shared. "Being in a locker room, having to change all the time, people see it, and I always tried to cover it up. I’ve tried different treatments, but topicals were difficult with my lifestyle of working out and recovering. Partnering with Amgen and talking to my doctor has been a game changer. They helped me find a treatment that fits my lifestyle, and it has made a significant difference."

Sharing His Story and Raising Awareness

Goedert is using his platform to help others who are battling plaque psoriasis. "I encourage everyone to visit dallasgstory.com to learn more about my journey," he said. "It’s important to talk to your doctor about finding the right treatment for your specific condition and lifestyle. There is no one-size-fits-all solution, but with the right approach, you can find something that works for you. I know firsthand how much of a difference it can make."

Dallas Goedert’s story is a testament to the power of perseverance, both on and off the field. His commitment to his team and his willingness to share his personal struggles highlight the importance of mental and physical well-being in achieving greatness.
